Manuscript file

Check that your manuscript has been prepared according to the journal guidelines (opens in a new window) or your submission may not meet our technical checks.

Instructions

It's best if your manuscript — including all text, figures and tables — is in one editable file.

Upload your manuscript in an editable format for peer review (maximum 4GB). This will be either:

  • A Word document with figures and tables placed in the body of the text where they are referenced
  • LaTeX documents with figures and tables compressed into a .zip format. We will compile these into a PDF for peer review.

Start by uploading your manuscript. We'll try to fill in or update some form fields by extracting the information.

Figures and Tables (optional)

Please note you do not need to upload figures and tables separately if you have already uploaded them as part of your manuscript file.

Upload Figures and Tables separately

Figures(optional)

If you prefer to upload your figures separately, please make sure you:

  • upload accepted file types (.jpeg, .tiff or .eps images)
  • upload figures in the order that they appear in your manuscript along with the correct labelling, for example Figure 1
  • do not obscure any figures with labels

Tables(optional)

Upload tables in the order that they appear in your manuscript along with the correct labelling e.g. Table 1.

Any tables that are too large to be presented graphically within the body of your manuscript should instead be uploaded as supplementary material.

Supplementary material (optional)

Upload supporting material that you want to be published alongside your manuscript.

Title

This is the title seen by potential reviewers. It must match the title as it appears in your manuscript file.

Abstract

This is the abstract seen by potential reviewers. It must match the abstract as it appears in your manuscript file.

Cover Letter (optional)

Provide a cover letter outlining your research. The cover letter should briefly discuss the context and importance of the submitted work and why it is appropriate for the journal.

Authors’ information

Add all author names in the order they should appear in the published manuscript.

Author Contributions Statement (Optional)

Authorship provides credit for a researcher's contributions to a study and carries accountability. Use this section to specify how authors contributed to the manuscript.

Our authorship policy for WJCRCI (opens in a new window) provides guidance and criteria for authorship.

This replaces any statement written within the manuscript and is the one that we will publish.

Use initials to refer to each author's contribution, and specify who did what. For example, "A.B. and C.D. wrote the main manuscript text and E.F. prepared figures 1-3. All authors reviewed the manuscript."

Open access

World Journal of Case Reports and Clinical Images is an open access journal that levies an article processing charge (APC) for articles accepted for publication. View the article processing charges (APC) for this journal (opens in a new window).

If your article is accepted you will need to pay the APC. You have some options to help you with the cost.

  • The APC for your article may be covered by one of World Journal of Case Reports and Clinical Images fully open access agreements or by a journal partner. We will check this for you if your article is accepted for publication.
  • If your research is funded by a grant, check with your research funder to see if you already have funds for APC in your grant.
  • World Journal of Case Reports and Clinical Images can help you look for funding to pay an APC.

Read more about getting help with APCs in our guide to funding and support services (opens in a new window).
