Abstract:
Tuberculosis of the
colon can involve any part of the colon whereas the involvement of the rectum
is rarely reported even from areas where gastrointestinal tuberculosis is
prevalent [1,2]. It is a rare manifestation of extra pulmonary
tuberculosis which typically occurs as a result of the spread of TB from
adjacent organs or through hematogenous dissemination. Here we report a 38-year-old
male from India presented with complaints of severe lower abdominal pain,
bleeding per rectum, dysuria for 3 days, was diagnosed as tuberculosis rectal
stricture [3,5].
Keywords: Rectal stricture, Fistula, Hemorrhoids, GI tuberculosis.
